Physical Science is the study of the nature and properties of non-living matter and energy.
The curriculum covers both physics and chemistry and includes the following categories: mechanics, waves, sound and light, electricity and magnetism, matter and materials, chemical change and chemical systems.
One needs the ability to grasp concepts and learn information and have good problem-solving skills.
Topics Covered include:
Mechanics (motion; forces; momentum; energy etc)
Waves, sound and light
Electricity and magnetism
Matter and materials (atomic structure; periodic table and periodicity; bonding; properties of matter etc)
Chemical change (chemical reactions including stoichiometry and energy of reactions)
Chemical systems
Minimum Selection Criteria:
60% for NS and Math in Grade 9 Term 2
